Large-flowered Bellwort
Uvularia grandiflora
This plant can grow to 30 inches tall, but is generally shorter at bloom time. I saw these along the trail to Flat Creek Falls in mid April. Flowers are yellow with 6 regular parts and all the plants I saw were rather droopy. Leaves are alternate, entire, and are pierced by the stem. A 3 lobed fruit appears at the end of the growing season.
