Rattlesnake Plantain
Goodyera pubescens

This plant is a member of the Orchid family and is very common in the areas that I have hiked. The leaves are easily recognized as they are fuzzy with distinctive white veins. Flowers appear in early summer and are atop of a 10-20 inch stem. They are white and the cluster forms a conical spike. Native Americans used this plant for a snake bite remedy.
