5-26-12 - This beautiful waterfall is on private property - owned by several families. I've known about it for quite a few years but didn't post directions until late 2010 when I found out a trail had been laid out that didn't pass through one of the land owner's yard. Not too many people knew about the waterfall and the land owners were kind enough not to post the land with no trespassing signs. I had just assumed that a land conservancy had arranged for the public to begin visiting the waterfall, so I posted directions here. This wasn't the case. The land owners had rerouted the trail so the public wouldn't go through the one yard. Unfortunately, too many people are now going to the waterfall and I am taking the directions off the site. The land owners emailed me and said that people have been leaving trash, letting their dogs run loose, and have even been carving their names in some of the rocks around the falls. They were very nice, but very concerned and asked for my help. Part of this is my fault for posting the directions, so I'm now asking that you do not visit this waterfall any longer, even if you know where it is. And for you folks that feel the need to litter and carver your names or initials anywhere where anyone else can see it - please stay home.
