Paw Paw used to be the name given to a series of 4 waterfalls on a section of Bearwallow Creek that drops about 200 feet in 1/4 mile. According to Kevin Adams' new book, the park has give each it's own name - Indian Camp Falls, Split Rock Falls, Chute Falls, and Paw Paw Falls. I thought I had seen all 4 waterfalls, but Kevin and Bernie told me I missed one. Dang it - now I've got to go back. I believe a trail to all 4 falls is in the park plans for the future. For now, it's a serious bushwhack.
I'm fairly certain this is Indian Camp Falls. Kevin mentions a ledge in front of the falls and Harry and I ate lunch there.

The next shot is Split Rock Falls. I had to shimmy down a rock for this view - some of the falls is hidden under the tree limbs.

Chute Falls is the one I missed. I'm not sure how - it seems very obvious. I figured Bernie would have a shot of it, and sure enough he did. Here it is - thanks Bernie!.

If you've seen any older photos of Paw Paw Falls, it was probably of this section. Bill Thomas has a nice one in his guide. There's an old trail that leads to the base of this section and I'm guessing that this is where the designated trail might eventually be. It can be accessed from the Frozen Creek side of the park down Augerhole Rd, but it's a long hike in and not an official trail.

Indian Branch Falls is about a mile down from Paw Paw. I haven't been there yet or to a couple of others, but you can see some shots of a section of the creek above Augerhole Rd on these next 2 pages.
