Pearson's Falls  5-11-07

Pearson's Falls is on private property, but the nice folks at the Tryon Garden Club allow public access. If you go in mid to late April, then glen is full of spring wildflowers. There's a small fee - $5 per person 12 years of age and up, $1 for kids 6-12, kids under 6 are free. For information on hours of operation and other goodies, please check their web site.

Directions:  From Asheville, take I-26 east past Hendersonville, and get off at exit 59. At the end of the ramp, head west on Ozone Drive towards Saluda. Drive a little over a mile and turn left on US176. Drive 2.5 miles and turn right on Pearson Falls Rd. The entrance to the falls is just under a mile on the left. Pearsons Falls Rd also connects on to US176 from it's other end. From the stop sign back on Ozone Rd at 176, turn right on 176, drive 0.2 miles, then turn left on to Pearsons Falls Rd. This section of the road is gravel, but is a pretty drive. Drive 2.7 mile, passing through a very narrow 1 lane tunnel under the RR tracks, and look for the entrance on the right. Stop at the shed to pay the fee, then continue up to the parking area. The trail is easy and less than 1/2 mile.
