Ramsey Creek Falls - ChauRam Park, Oconee County, SC
Ramsey Creek Falls

11-6-18  Ramsey Creek Falls is one of the few waterfalls that is wheelchair accessible. The 40' waterfall is viewable from one of the parking areas at Chau Ram County Park. The park also offers about 4 miles of hiking trails through the woods and along the Chauga River. There are several picnic tables, so you could make a full day of it with the family. There is a $2 per vehicle daily fee and the park is open from 7am to dusk. The park closes for the season some time in mid November and reopens in March. A good 1/2 day to full day outing would include this waterfall and the nearby Riley Moore Falls.

Directions: From Westminster, SC drive 2.5 miles west on US76 and turn left on Chau Ram Park Rd. Drive another mile to the pay station, then continue on to the parking areas and trail heads.

The office is on the right with parking spaces available here, but turn right after the drink machine to head down to the lower parking lot. Ramsey Creek Falls is viewable from the end of the parking area. You can't miss it!

Below is a video from our early November 2018 visit that also includes Riley Moore Falls and Reedy Branch Falls.

Cindy and I visited the park for the first time back in March 2018 right after a lot of rain. The water in the falls was dirty from runoff up creek, so I didn't keep any pictures of the falls. We hiked several of the trails and really enjoyed our visit to the park. Ramsey Creek empties into the Chauga River not too far down from the waterfall. There are other cascades along the Chuaga that are accessible via the trails and provide wading and 'swim at your own risk' opportunities when water levels are normal.
