Bald River Falls
These falls are in the Tellico Ranger District of the Cherokee National Forest. We started out near Maryville, so we came down Hwy 411 south to Madisonville, then headed east and south on Hwy 68. I believe there is a sign pointing to Tellico Plains. Hwy 68 heads into Tellico Plains and here we took a left on Hwy 165, the Cherohala Skyway, drove 5.3 miles and took a right on FR 210 which follows the beautiful Tellico River. First stop was the 80' Bald River Falls pictured above which is about 6 miles down FR 210. You can't miss it - it's right next to the road and flows into the Tellico River. When we were there the river was gushing and spray was coming up over the bridge where most pictures are taken from (next shot).
There's a smaller volume waterfall that comes in from the right side that we decided to check out. It's tall also, but slides down through the woods so I couldn't see the whole thing. The next shot shows the main part of the falls and this is the general area where I took the 1st picture from.
We hopped back in the vehicle and drove a little further down the road. There are cascades all up and down the Tellico - the 15' Baby Falls pictured above being one of them.
